We had a fantastic turn out for our first community choir rehearsal in Cottenham at the CCC last night, almost 60 people. Thanks to everyone who came along and to everyone on the committee for making this happen, and of course to our Musical Director Jasmine for getting us warmed up and singing in harmony so quickly. We might have to start a waiting list if more turn up next week.
Everyone seemed to have fun with the vocal warmups, singing the round, and then diving into four-part harmony singing of Edelweiss!
Just a reminder, no experience needed, just enthusiasm and no need to read music, we’re learning by ear. Sheet music and lyrics will be provided if people want them though.
We will have Rich Mandal accompanying us on piano from next week.
I’m delighted that the first meeting of the choir was so successful. I was unwell so couldn’t be there.
